After dinner, Leda was whisked away by a phone call, leaving Roseanne to escort her parents back home.
Despite a long day of browsing and shopping that left them exhausted, Norris couldn't contain his excitement as
he scrolled through the photos on his phone. "...I'm telling you, this enamel-coated silver goblet...and this coral-
inlaid silver brooch..."
His voice echoed through the staircase.
Madge couldn't help but smile at his childlike enthusiasm, a rare sight for her.
Roseanne played the part of the attentive listener, chiming in only when prompted.
The family of three laughed and chatted as they climbed up to the seventh floor, with Roseanne reaching for her
keys to open the door.
Just then, the door opposite theirs opened.
"Oh? Heading out, Owen?" Norris greeted warmly.

Roseanne instinctively turned her head, her gaze unexpectedly meeting the man's smiling eyes.
He was dressed simply yet elegantly in a white short-sleeved shirt paired with khaki trousers, his appearance
both clean and restrained.
This was their first encounter since that night she'd drunkenly rambled to Owen...
Recalling Norris mentioning her drunken escapade with Owen, Roseanne awkwardly averted her gaze.
The man's smile deepened slightly as he nodded at Norris, "Yeah, off to the lab."
"Still working this late?"
"Got sdata to finish up."
"Gotcha... Well, when you're free, let's catch up over a gof chess!"
"Sure."
Meanwhile, Beverley finally found relief from the relentless demands of Maisie and her son.
Or rather, they had worn themselves out and decided to head back to their hotel, allowing her to escape their
grip.
Collapsing onto the couch at home, Beverley felt utterly drained, her body weak and her mind foggy.
"Mom! I've got great news-"
Hertha rushed downstairs, beaming with excitement as she sat beside Beverley.
She had just received her acceptance letter from Kingswell University, where she'd study Bioinformatics under
Professor Edna.
All those gifts she'd sent to
Edna-bird's nest soup, ginseng, donkey hide gelatin-that were initially meant for Madeleine Payne but were
declined, had paid off.

Hertha had also managed to secure a favor by sending Edna a high-quality diamond bracelet through a
middleman, costing nearly a million. She avoided direct contact to prevent any backlash or suspicion, especially
considering her past actions of spreading rumors about Roseanne using backdoors for opportunities.
The bracelet wasn't a gift but was technically bought by Edna for five hundred dollars, a clever move to avoid
any potential scandal. Edna delivered, and the admission notice was promptly sent, validating Hertha's efforts.
Beverley, too worn out to celebrate, simply acknowledged the good news with a half-hearted "That's great."
"What's up with you, looking all down? And where were you all day? You even left without the driver..."
Hertha's question unleashed a
torrent of complaints from Beverley,
who sat up to vent: "Where was I?
Cleaning up after your brother's
mess you have no idea how embarrassing it is to be seen with those two! They're absolutely insufferable!"
Hertha's expression grew more concerned as she listened, "Why do you keep indulging them? Don't you know
people will take advantage of that?"
